What can you do after the Co-Creation Teams training?

Creating a safe, professional context

You will learn how, as a coach or leader, you establish an atmosphere where people feel safe to speak up, make mistakes and learn from each other. This is the basis for true development.

You learn to recognize signals in group processes and to ask targeted questions or make interventions at the right moment. In this way, you make unmentionable issues open for discussion and bring movement to deadlocked dynamics.

You will develop skills to guide teams and project groups in their cooperation, decision-making and result orientation. You bring structure and keep room for process and relationship.

You learn to respond flexibly to what a team or individual needs. Sometimes that requires giving direction, sometimes it requires listening and slowing down. You learn to consciously choose what serves you most in that moment.

You support teams in taking responsibility from intrinsic motivation. Not by imposing it, but by living it and giving room for initiative and reflection.

You develop greater awareness in the areas of connecting, listening and tuning in. This creates relationships based on trust, openness and mutual respect.

You learn to look at and work with the whole rather than separate individuals. By paying attention to underlying patterns, relationships and contexts, you bring about sustainable change.

Plus, you meet the required training hours for ICF certification!

"Alone, we can do so little;
together, we can do so much"

(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770 - 1827)

Co-Creation Teams is intended, among other things, for (prospective) team coaches who want to start their own coaching business or get started as a team coach in an organization and for executives/managers who want to integrate team coaching skills into their current work to complement their existing role.

During this 6-month course, you will learn how to coach teams effectively, focusing on:

  • When and how to coach a team. You will learn the difference between team coaching and other interventions and how to carefully build a process.
  • Creating a safe, professional setting. Including ethics, confidentiality and dealing with the role of the client.
  • Develop a coaching mindset. Focused on openness, judicious listening and working with what presents itself.
  • Working with team dynamics and systems thinking. You will learn to recognize patterns, name them and intervene powerfully at the whole system level.
  • Apply practical tools & ICF competencies. Hands-on practice with team exercises, work forms and skills that are immediately applicable.
  • Understanding yourself as a team coach. You will explore your style, qualities and pitfalls and learn how to consciously use them.

During Co-Creation Teams, you learn primarily by doing. You practice with real situations, apply practical tools immediately and reflect on your own role as a team coach. Theory is briefly and concisely covered on the practical days and supplemented with a reference book.

You will receive 12 hours of small-group supervision, work Peer 2 Peer on assignments, and collaboratively develop a 1-day group project for an outside organization.

I knew I was a rockstar and after working together with my team I became a legend!

This could have been a quote from Freddy Mercury, the lead singer of the legendary
rock band Queen. Queen’s success was not only their music, more importantly their strength
to be connected and work together.

"Queen is a family, the band members are my brothers"

(Freddy Mercury, 1946 - 1991)

Team coaching, a fast-growing development

Team coaching is on the rise. Organizations are looking for ways to work better together, encourage ownership and remain agile in an increasingly complex world. This requires something different from teams and therefore from their coaching.

The Co-Creation Teams training responds to this growing need. You will work with the ICF Team Competence Model, develop your coaching attitude, learn to look at what is going on under the surface and strengthen your impact as a coach or leader.

In the Team Coaching Co-Creation Teams course, you will work on several pillars in addition to competency development:

1. Your impact
  • Learn what your own impact is in team coaching
  • You explore how your inner patterns, such as presuppositions, triggers, your inner critic and drives, carry through into your contact with yourself and with the team.
  • Get insight into what is happening in the dynamics and how you can make a difference.

This is how you learn to give space to “the wisdom of the team” and put it into motion.

  • As a team coach, you yourself are the most important tool.
  • Learn to recognize signals from your body as a source of information.
  • Learn to physically sense and visualize unconscious patterns in teams.
  • To make powerful interventions from calmness and presence, even when things get tense.
  • Learn to look at the team as a whole, rather than separate individuals.
  • Working with the undercurrent: what is not said, but is involved.
  • Giving each voice in the system space, without judgment.
  • Recognize patterns and dynamics that influence collaboration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this team coach training for?

This team coach course is for coaches, team supervisors, leaders or HR professionals who want to increase their impact in teams. You want to learn to work with team dynamics, strengthen ownership and guide teams in an increasingly complex work environment.

Choose a training program that is recognized by a professional organization such as the ICF, offers plenty of practice, pays attention to your own development and team dynamics, provides good supervision and works in small groups for personal guidance. In addition, it is important that the training fits your learning style, goals and the way you want to work with teams. In this way, you will learn to supervise teams effectively and with confidence.

You will learn how to coach teams with more impact, based on three pillars: your impact as a coach, working with the body (leadership embodiment) and team coaching from systems thinking. You will develop skills such as creating safety, working with the undercurrent and applying the ICF Team Competence Model.

After each module, you attend a supervision session with a small group of participants. In these sessions, you practice with real team cases, reflect on your own role and receive professional feedback from a certified coach. This way, you immediately put what you have learned into practice.

Together with your fellow participants, you organize a team coaching program at an organization. From intake to execution. This way, you practice all phases of team coaching and learn to cooperate, tune in and coach in a realistic setting. A unique opportunity to combine theory and practice.

Upon completion of the team coach training you will receive a “certificate of completion. This demonstrates that you have been trained in line with ICF professional standards. The training contributes to the hours you need for an ICF certification program Advanced Certification in Team Coaching.

This certification allows team coaches to independently validate their knowledge, skills and competencies in this important field of team coaching. This distinguishes you as an advanced practitioner in an increasingly crowded marketplace of team coaches and helps you demonstrate your value to clients.

The training consists of three practical modules on location, supervision moments and a group project. In addition, there is self-study and reflection, which you arrange yourself, making the training easy to combine with a job. In total, the training takes about 5 to 6 months.

No, but a foundation in individual coaching or coaching groups is nice. You will learn during the course how team coaching differs from other forms of coaching, and you will be taken through it step by step.

Team coaching focuses on structural development and awareness within the team, with attention to patterns and dynamics. Team building often focuses on fun, connection and cooperation in the short term. In the training you will learn to make this distinction clear and apply it in your work.

You will stay at Landgoed De Hoevens in Alphen (NB), a quiet, rural place with all modern comforts. The ‘Flemish Barn’ is available exclusively for the training. You stay overnight on location (private or shared room). Cooking yourself contributes to connection and group feeling.

No, but it is highly recommended. The evening program (mandatory) is part of the learning process and hours required for your training. In addition, staying together enhances the group dynamic.
